Notes from Monitoring Social Media 2010 conference in Paris

Brian Solis was clearly the highlight of today’s Monitoring Social Media conference. His 30 min keynote speech brought nothing new to the discussion if you’ve followed his blog, but at the same his message cannot be repeated enough.

Brian touched on major things such as engineering your company around sharing, the 5 I’s of social: Intelligence, Insight, Ideation, Interaction, Influence and the importance of leading not reacting.

I’d opened up a Google doc for all tweeters following the twitter #msm10 tag to collaboratively create meeting minutes. Here’s the document with notes from Monitoring Social Media 2010 Paris.

Thanks for posting, Joakim, as I did not attend. “The future of business is not created, it is co-created… design your business around sharing.” Yes, nothing new, but still a great sentiment. Similar to another recent quote in FastCompany I liked, “Marketing in the future is like sex. Only the losers will have to pay for it.”
