The Dolce&Gabbana Facebook photo booth in Paris

Everyday when walking home from my work at Mangas Gaming in Paris I pass the Avenue Marceau where all the fashion brands, such as Dolce & Gabbana, has their flagship stores. While some tourists takes photos of themselves with the Eiffel tower, some are just dying to take a photo with these stores in the background, for then a quick upload to Facebook.

However odd you may think the behaviour is, if I where the brand manager of e.g Dolce & Gabbana it would be the best thing ever. There is a behaviour already, how can you make it easier for your customer or prospects to share what they care?

Quick pitch:

  • Create a photo corner in the display and encourage by passing people to have a photo
  • Call it the Facebook photo booth encouraging the idea to share it on Facebook
  • Execute it as a campaign during 2 weeks, all uploaded photos to Dolce & Gabbana’s Facebook page enters a draw with a fantastic prize

Great marketing concept. Have you checked out SMART Pics they have a social media photo kiosk that auto uploads pictures to social media sites Facebook and Twitter. http://www.smartpics.ca

Could definitely be used to execute on this idea.

Well that’s just brilliant, you guys already have the product in store. I had no idea.

Did you know that fashion week is coming to Paris now and that the D&G store, featured above, is hosting a party Monday night? Your social media photo kiosk would fit well there.

Btw, following you on twitter now.

As it turns out, I was not careful enough to check Dolce&Gabbana’s window display but I was so excited about this idea. As a matter of fact, behind my painted Facebook booth sits 3 LCD screens connected to a central SMS system…. send a text to the central and You’ll appear in the front display window…
